About the Role

Are you interested in guiding the next generation to embark on their study journey at Flinders University? Join the vibrant and supportive Student Recruitment Team who strive to make a difference for our future students

As a Domestic Student Recruitment Coordinator, (known at Flinders as Prospective Student Coordinator), you will use your practical understanding of community liaison, recruitment, and marketing to inspire and engage an audience interested in pursuing foundation studies, undergraduate or postgraduate studies. The role has the additional focus of building engagement, overseeing activity and delivering presentations to promote STEM at Flinders.

In this multi-faceted position, you will manage the lead generation, nurture and conversion of prospective students while coordinating a range of community outreach activities with external organisations, such as schools, to achieve Domestic Student targets.

The key position responsibilities are:

  • Responding to inquiries from prospective students regarding career options, pathways, course and entry requirements.

  • Undertaking project work to plan, develop and coordinate new and continuing initiatives to assist in the recruitment of students.

  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders at schools to build relationships, deliver workshops and increase engagement to showcase Flinders and our courses.

  • Coordinating and participating in domestic student recruitment and career events such as School Visits, Expos, Careers Fairs and University Open Days.

Travel between campus and events will be by a university pool car, or kilometre reimbursement if a car is unavailable.

We offer some flexibility around work location on non-event days, (Bedford Park, City Campus or WFH), but you will be required at the Bedford Park campus every Monday or when other work requires.

Any overtime is paid according to Flinders Enterprise Agreement.

About You

With your well-developed sales-orientated approach to customer service, you will drive engagement and increase interest in study pathways at Flinders University by supporting students from initial inquiry.  Your excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills will be the key to your success as you demonstrate your ability to liaise with stakeholders and prospective students at various levels.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the University's entry requirements and the SATAC application process.

  • High level computing skills and experience in the use of a computerised student information system.

It is expected that the successful candidate will hold a STEM Tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

About the Office of Prospect Management

The Office of Prospect Management is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment, conversion and reengagement activities for foundation studies, undergraduate and postgraduate applicants to ensure that the University's student recruitment targets are met.
