About the role
We're currently seeking a
Collections Officer
to join our Sydney team to be responsible for managing and recovering outstanding payments to ensure timely cash flow and maintain healthy financial operations. This role involves proactive communication with clients to resolve payment issues, negotiating payment plans, and maintaining accurate records of collections activities.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in Collections or Customer Service to join a growing lender and contribute directly to our funding strategy and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely recovery of outstanding payments.
- Conduct outbound and inbound calls to clients regarding payment arrangements, outstanding debts, and account status.
- Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers while maintaining a positive customer relationship.
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities and update the customer database regularly.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as credit control, finance, and customer service to resolve disputes and streamline collections processes.
- Monitor accounts to identify potential credit risks and escalate cases as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards during the collections process.
What we're looking for
- Handle inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and efficiency.
- Leverage experience in Asset or Vehicle Finance, or Business Loans, to support client needs (advantageous).
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Effectively manage time and prioritise tasks to consistently meet targets and deadlines.
- Utilise intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Commit to a full-time role with a strong work ethic and reliability.
- Apply tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related discipline to support job functions.
- Work independently with initiative, while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
