Acting Team Leader

selectability is seeking an Acting Team Leader - child and family care for an immediate start until 13/01/2026. As acting team leader you will be responsible for leading a team of child and family care professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care. Our youth residential program provides care and intensive support to children and young people who have a variety of needs.  Team leaders oversee house operations with a strengths-based, person-centred approach while also maintaining strong outcomes focus.  

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• overseeing the daily operations of the Child and Family Care services which includes- monitoring, managing and supporting a team of youth workers to maintain: workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, managing positive behaviour support plans, compliance checking
• ensuring that all team members are trained and up to date with relevant procedures and regulations
• providing support and guidance to employees when required
• reporting any concerns or incidents to the relevant manager
• providing exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
• maintaining professional boundaries at all times
• maintaining accurate and up to date records and documentation
• facilitating team meetings, and professional development activities
• assisting children and young people in the development and delivery of their individual care plans and goals
• assisting and empowering children and young people in maintaining their environment

To be successful you must: 

• possess clear and effective communication skills 
• demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management 
• experience working in a team environment 
• exhibit an ability to problem solve 
• be able to follow policies and procedures at all times 
• be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
• must be available to be on call, to provide support and assistance as required
• travel across selectability sites is required

• minimum or equivalent of a certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention for Residential Care
• a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 
• a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle 
• a Child Safety & Personal History Screening check
• current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain)
• a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
