About the role:
Unitywater is undergoing a period of significant growth, driven by major infrastructure investment to support sustainable development across our region. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic team manager to join our Development Services Branch.
Our team manages the process of connecting new developments to their water and sewer networks. This includes assessing applications, ensuring compliance with standards, and facilitating the connection process for developers. The DS Branch also help developers navigate the complex approval process and ensure the safety of their water supply.
As the Major Development Connection Manager, you will be responsible for leading a diverse team of professionals focused on the assessment of applications and delivering multi staged residential projects, Priority Development Areas (PDA's), large scale masterplan projects and the delivery of key water and sewer trunk infrastructure upgrades to service the growing region. In doing so, you will provide a streamlined and efficient process while building strong relationships with developers, consultants and peak industry bodies.

Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, town planning, management, or business (preferred).
- 10 years' experience in water supply, sewerage, and recycled water planning/operations.
- Expertise in legislation, regulations, standards, policies, and codes for development application assessments.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, driven by commercial acumen and results-oriented mindset.
- Proven leadership in coaching and developing technical professionals to achieve business and customer goals.
- Exceptional negotiation and facilitation experience to resolve stakeholder issues and meet objectives.
- Ability to simplify technical information for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated excellence in team leadership and fostering effective collaboration to deliver project success.
