Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Develop, deliver and monitor initiatives aligned to the HSE Plan
  • Draft, peer-review and implement HSE policies, strategies and management-system documentation
  • Lead toolbox talks, HSE committee meetings and targeted training sessions
  • Conduct audits (site, office, vehicle, ergonomic, contractor) and ensure timely follow-up
  • Maintain risk-registers, EMS building audits, thermal assessments and contractor compliance databases
  • Monitor regulatory changes; influence stakeholders and keep the business informed
  • Act as a first-aid responder and manage high-risk, high-consequence scenarios
  • Support tenders, build-ability reviews and environmental sustainability projects
  • Assist in maintaining accreditations (CMS, BROWZ, etc.)
  • Undertake other hands-on duties as directed

What You Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS, (or equivalent experience)
  • Certificate IV in OHS (minimum)
  • In-depth knowledge of construction risks and hazards
  • Strong legislative interpretation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and report-writing abilities
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage your workload
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management-system tools
  • Proven ability to build rapport with staff, contractors and suppliers
  • Flexibility to thrive in a multi-skilled, fast-paced environment
