As Senior Manager of Software Development & Delivery, you will lead AUSIEX's software engineering and delivery function, ensuring technology solutions are aligned with business goals and regulatory needs. You'll drive transformation, foster innovation, and build high-performing teams across development, QA, business analysis, and delivery.

  • Strategy Execution: Turn technology strategy into clear delivery plans that support growth.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor skilled, collaborative teams locally and offshore.
  • Delivery Oversight: Ensure quality, performance, and continuous improvement across all streams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leaders to align delivery with business priorities.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee external partners to ensure compliance and value.
  • Innovation: Lead modernization efforts including cloud adoption and legacy system upgrades.

Your leadership will help AUSIEX deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions to financial institutions and advisers across Australia.

What Will You Be Doing
The Head of Software Development & Delivery is responsible for leading the end-to-end software engineering and delivery function within Ausiex Technology. This includes oversight of software development, quality assurance, business analysis, and solution delivery management. The role ensures the successful execution of strategic technology initiatives, drives innovation, and fosters a high-performance engineering culture across local and global teams. It is pivotal in aligning technology delivery with business objectives, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions that support Ausiex's growth and transformation agenda.

This role is based in Perth or Sydney and will have accountability for:

Leadership, Mentorship & Strategy

  • Define and execute the software development and delivery strategy aligned with Ausiex's business and technology goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing teams across Development, QA, BA, and Solution Delivery, including globally distributed teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and technical excellence.
  • Provide coaching and career guidance to team members, supporting their growth into future leaders.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape technology roadmaps and investment priorities.

Software Development & QA

  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable and secure software solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural standards, coding best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement robust governance and reporting mechanisms to track delivery performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering and QA practices, tools, and frameworks.

Business Analysis & Solution Delivery

  • Lead the business analysis function to ensure clear, actionable requirements and alignment with business needs.
  • Manage solution delivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Implement robust governance and reporting mechanisms to track delivery performance.

Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external technology vendors and delivery partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with strategic delivery goals.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and ensure compliance with Ausiex's standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with Product, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure technology solutions meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Act as a key liaison between technology and business units, translating strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans.

Innovation & Transformation

  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation with emerging technologies.
  • Lead transformation initiatives including cloud migration & modernization of legacy systems.

Required Experience And Capabilities

  • 20+ years in software engineering and delivery leadership roles, including cross-functional and global team management.
  • Strong knowledge of modern development methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and microservices architecture.
  • Proven success leading large-scale transformation programs, including cloud migration and legacy modernization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage offshore delivery and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Track record of mentoring and developing engineering, QA, and delivery talent.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with risk, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.
