The Company

Base Group Australia provides crane and rigging services to the resources and construction sector at the Port of Ashburton and other locations in Western Australia.

The Role

Due to growth in the business at the Port of Ashburton and other locations, Base Group Australia is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and suitable personnel that are interested in future opportunities within our company, namely in the following roles:

Crane Operators

Riggers

The Contract

FIFO or local residence roles available. Opportunity to fly in from anywhere in Western Australia to either Pilbara sites or South West sites.

Immediate start for 2:2 roster for minimum 4 month contract that has the possibility to lead to full time work

The Requirements

Preference is given to experienced operators within these respective fields although training can be provided to the right applicants.

At Base Marine, all staff are expected to be hands on in whatever tasks are scheduled for any particular day. These can include:

  • Rigging

  • Crane Operating

  • General maintenance

  • Forklift operations

  • Project planning

  • Safety management participation

  • Line Handling

As the successful applicant, you will have the following key attributes:

  • Health and safety focused

  • Minimum 2 years materials handling experience

  • Forklift ticket

  • Riggers Ticket

  • CO Open crane ticket for crane operator positions

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Well-presented and fit for work

  • Willingness to work in various roles within the operation subject to site activity levels and available tasks each day

The following skills are not essential but would be beneficial to have:

  • Dual Crane lift experience

  • Intermediate/Advanced Rigging certificates

  • Open Crane ticket

  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)

  • Southern Ports Authority Access
