Support world-leading research on children's cancer through pragmatic governance frameworks.
This is an exciting opportunity for a governance professional (with a particular interest in data governance) who is looking to support the implementation of for-purpose frameworks and tailored governance support to a diverse and fast paced research environment.
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Assurance, the role of Governance and Assurance (Data) Officer will build, implement and maintain the systems, policies and training that support our research. This position requires strategic collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure robust Assurance management practices, (focusing initially on the data governance framework to enable secure, efficient, and standardised use of data across the Institute). This role is not about compliance tick boxes – this role is about protecting and unlocking research data that could save a child's life tomorrow. Our Assurance culture isn't about saying
'no'
, it's about asking
'how can we'
.
You would be a great fit if you:
- Have certification in policy and governance and 2-4 years in a governance or related role
- Have data management experience and have or be looking to expand broader governance skillsets.
- Are an experienced governance professional that has had extensive exposure to complex project, operational, enterprise and strategic risk.
- Bring your broad policy writing experience.
- Are approachable and friendly and enjoy being part of a for-purpose organisation.
- Bring integrity, passion and interest to governance, risk & compliance, gaining credibility across the entire business
- Can lead in complex situations and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Have proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders who have varied skill sets and knowledge bases.
- Drive innovation and operational excellence.
- Have experience in Risk Management Systems, Sharepoint, PowerBi and Monday, and have experience delivering organisational wide training (F2F)
We will support you to be your best with benefits like:
- Focus on employee wellbeing, including up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year
- Access to fitness passport, with access to an extensive choice of fitness facilities across Sydney at discounted rates
- Corporate discounts and discounts on education through UNSW
- Not for profit salary packaging / tax benefits
