Level 9A - $150,000 - $175,000 per annum plus super

Are you a bold, visionary leader ready to shape the cultural and creative heartbeat of one of WA's most dynamic communities?
The City of Stirling is seeking a transformative leader to drive innovation, inclusion, and excellence across our Libraries, Arts, and Community History services. This is more than a Service Lead position it's a strategic leadership role with real influence, guiding multidisciplinary teams and shaping the future of lifelong learning, creative industries, and community connection.
You'll be at the helm of a portfolio that touches lives daily, fostering vibrant places and programs that celebrate diversity, creativity, and heritage. Your leadership will ensure Stirling remains a place where imagination thrives, stories are preserved, and communities flourish.
Your Impact
As a senior leader within the Community Development Directorate, you will:
- Provide strategic direction and lead continuous improvement across the City's six Libraries, with diverse facilities and collections designed to enrich our community encouraging continual learning and enhancing creativity.
- Lead the Arts team in creating a liveable, vibrant and prosperous City connecting communities through culturally significant visual art and public art collections and community art initiatives, such as exhibitions, workshops, events, awards and activities.
- Oversee the City's culturally diverse and thought-provoking history. Leading a passionate team dedicated to preserving and presenting historical artefacts, documents and stories. Including managing the rich history at the Mount Flora Museum with photographs, displays, artefacts, and captivating stories.
- Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive team culture through coaching, mentoring, and resource management across multiple buildings, collections and services.
- Lead service planning, budgeting, and delivery of capital and operational initiatives.
- Drive innovation through creative project management and community engagement to deliver contemporary forward-thinking services.
- Represent the City with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, advisory groups and committees.

Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- A tertiary qualification in library/information science, arts, community development, or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership in complex service environments with strong stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- A track record of delivering innovative, culturally responsive programs.
- Financial acumen and experience managing diverse budgets and assets.
