About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Drafting Team Leader to lead our Drafting division and enjoy the ongoing opportunities for career development.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing direction to your team and effectively managing the drafting procedures
  • Implementing processes and procedures for more efficient work flow
  • Checking job and task progress
  • Directing team members on following up outstanding issues as required
  • Providing updates to the General Manager on the team's progress regularly
  • Ensure the team are achieving KPIs
  • Managing team performance
  • Produce site plans, floor plans, elevations, internal elevations, details and sections and shadow diagrams where required
  • Assist with changes/variations to current drawings where required
  • Ensure quality of drawings are close to flawless within required Mimosa Homes time frames
  • Provide drawings and documentation for contracts/colour variations and final plans for site start
  • Provide cost effective solutions when posed with a non-standard design or current designs.
  • Prepare full working drawings with accuracy to be submitted for building permit, energy rating and developer submission
  • Ability to produce master plans if required
  • Provide construction detailing solutions that clearly maintain design intent and consider build-ability
  • Prepare contract drawings upon request
  • Maintain an awareness of all matters relevant to the design and production of the deliverables for the project
  • Good understanding of relevant codes and Australian standards, regulations and design guidelines

What we're looking for

  • Advanced ArchiCAD skills (must)
  • 3-5 years' experience required (residential drafting experience)
  • 1-2 years team leading or managing experience
  • Australian Residential drafting experience is essential
  • Understanding of Australian standards, NCC, RESCODE and Small Lot Housing Code
  • Experience working within the Medium Density sector is a must
  • Positive, passionate and hardworking attitude
  • Exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders
  • The ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent presentation and confident communication
  • Computer literacy and high attention to detail
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with others from office to sales to clients
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage documents and revisions control
