Summary:

The Production Operator (Packing Team) plays a key role in supporting day-to-day production operations within a small, hands-on manufacturing team at our Penrith facility. This is a full-time salaried position working 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on product packing, handling, and quality checks rather than heavy machinery or process engineering. We are seeking someone who is practical, reliable, and team-oriented — the right attitude and fit are more important than formal qualifications or prior experience. Because of our site location and operational needs, own reliable transport is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor packing line equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct basic product inspections to ensure packaging and labelling meet company and customer standards.
  • Assist with the weighing, sealing, and palletising of finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate records of packing activities and product traceability.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily packing targets and maintain workflow.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all food safety and HACCP requirements. Participate in cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain a hygienic work environment.
  • Identify and report any non-conformances or quality concerns promptly.
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and wear appropriate PPE.

Experience:

  • No prior manufacturing experience required — we value the right fit, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Experience in food, pharmaceutical, or packaging environments will be viewed favourably.
  • Familiarity with GMP, food safety, or sanitation procedures is desirable but not essential (training provided).

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport are required.
  • No formal qualifications are required; however, the following are advantageous
  • TAFE Certificate in Food Processing or related field.
  • HACCP or GMP training certificate.
