About the role

Cooltrans, a leading transport and logistics company in Australia, is seeking a dedicated Casual Night Shift Regional HC Driver to join its team in Dandenong South, Victoria. This is a casual role that will involve driving heavy vehicles on regional routes. Available shifts will vary week to week, from 2 on quieter weeks up to 3+ on busy weeks. As a Casual Night Shift Regional HC Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and reliable movement of goods across our network.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operating heavy commercial vehicles on regional routes
  • Adhering to all relevant road transport regulations and Cooltrans' safety policies and procedures
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
  • Effectively communicating with management and other team members to ensure timely and efficient deliveries
  • Providing excellent customer service by delivering goods to customers in a professional and courteous manner

  • Maintaining accurate records of driving activities, including Electronic Work Diary

  • A current Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence

  • A good driving record is required
  • Demonstrated experience in operating heavy commercial vehicles, preferably in a regional or long-haul setting
  • A minimum of 3+ years of heavy commercial vehicle driving experience is required
  • A strong understanding of road transport regulations and safety practices
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to navigate challenging road conditions and deliver on time
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills to interact with management and customers
  • A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and reporting any vehicle or operational issues
  • Able to work weekends.
