About the opportunity

Werribee Mercy hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diabetes Nurse Educator to join our team for a 12-month fixed term maternity leave cover position November November

As a key member of our diverse team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient diabetes nurse education.

  • Provide individualised diabetes self-management education to patients across our inpatient wards and outpatient programs.
  • Be an expert clinical resource for patients and staff across Werribee Mercy Hospital
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide highly responsive and flexible service to patients and careers.

To thrive in this role, you will be/have:

  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), holding a current practicing certificate with current AHPRA registration
  • Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education
  • Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) OR working towards ADEA credentialing

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
