About the role..
We are seeking a Physiotherapist with strong clinical skills in neurological physiotherapy to join our Physiotherapy team based out of Royal Rehab Ryde. This Maternity leave position is available as full-time work across both our Community Rehab Services (CRS) and LifeWorks – Ryde teams. Alternatively, two part-time roles in each of the services may be considered. Both services provide therapy to clients in the community so access to a vehicle and valid driver's licence is essential for the role.
LifeWorks - Ryde (2days/week) is an innovative multi-disciplinary service that is growing LifeWorks Ryde supports clients by providing therapy services onsite and in the community. The Ryde campus has a state-of-the-art advanced technology centre in which the team provides innovative therapy using robotic technology. The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team with a client-focused and goal-centred framework. Working primarily with adult clients with neurological conditions and/or complex disabilities both onsite at Ryde and in the community.
Community Rehab Services (3days/week) provides rehabilitation and therapy services to clients in their own home environment within the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD), to community clients at the NSLHD residential TACP program at Belrose. The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team with a client-focused and goal-centred framework. Working primarily with adult clients with neurological and orthopedic conditions in our Home-Based Rehab, Transitional Aged Care (TACP) therapy program.
The successful applicant will be offered excellent professional development support, a work phone, laptop and access to fleet vehicles for work related travel.
*Key responsibilities include:*
- Provision of high quality, evidence-based physiotherapy interventions based on sound clinical reasoning following comprehensive assessment
- Provision of clinical supervision for assistants
- Supervision of physiotherapy students
- To contribute to the clinical education of self and others including students
- To maintain and encourage an evidence-based approach to practice
About you..
We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:
Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Current C unrestricted driver's licence, good driving record and own car
- Experience in providing physiotherapy to clients in the community, disability and/or rehab setting
- Experience and clinical skills in neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation
- Demonstrated excellence with written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional growth and development
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with persons with permanent disability
- Experience with NDIS, LTCS/iCare and other compensable clients including reports
- Experience working with people with spinal cord injury
- Experience with supervision of physiotherapists and students
