About the role
The Curriculum Implementation Officer, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) provides curriculum and assessment expertise, advice and support for the implementation and monitoring of curriculum in the PDHPE learning area from Kindergarten to Year 12, and manages curriculum activities and projects in accordance with Directorate priorities and processes
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Provide subject-matter expertise and advice in PDHPE
- Lead and contribute to curriculum projects and initiatives in line with Directorate strategic and operational plans
- Prepares correspondence, reports, briefings and data in relation to PDHPE and related curriculum development and implementation in schools.
- Contribute to the monitoring, maintenance and/or development of PDHPE curriculum by evaluating feedback, analysing evidence
- Working collaboratively with officers across learning areas, cross curriculum teams and other areas of NESA to ensure cohesion, alignment and quality in the implementation of syllabuses
- Collaborates, communicates and works effectively with a range of NESA areas, particularly with the Assessment Standards Directorate, to support PDHPE learning in NSW.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Contribute to building collaborative relationships and alignment across the work of NESA, especially within the Curriculum Standards Directorate, by balancing the priorities and demands of the PDHPE learning area with the competing priorities and demands of other areas and across teams.
- Deliver outcomes relating to curriculum activities and projects with competing priorities in an intensive work environment.
- Maintain expertise in PDHPE curriculum and pedagogy by staying current with national and international research.
- Expertise in teaching, learning and assessment in PDHPE.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in education in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Extensive working knowledge and understanding of current legislation, policy, research, practices and issues relating to PDHPE curriculum and assessment.
- a current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment (prior to commencement, not required at the application stage).
