Helena College is a non-religious, independent, co-educational school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in the Perth Hills, just 25 kms from the city.
Across our two campuses in Darlington and Glen Forrest, we provide a balanced learning program, with a focus on developing the whole child in a supportive and caring environment. While meeting all the expectations of the Western Australian curriculum, we believe educating students extends beyond the classroom and our program includes Outdoor Education, camps, sports, arts, clubs and community projects.

Role Description:
We believe English Teachers are vital in shaping students' communication, critical thinking, and literary analysis skills. They foster a love for reading and writing, enhance cultural understanding, and prepare students for future academic and professional endeavors.
Status: Full-time | Ongoing role
Salary rate: Teachers Step 5 to 13 (dependent on experience)
Effective date: Term 1, 2026
Essential Criteria:
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications with experience in teaching English in a senior school.
- Hold current Teacher Registration and a Working with Children card.
- Ability to obtain a Police Clearance.
- Have highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and organisational ability.
- Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the College.
- Plan and deliver an engaging curriculum for students with an overarching focus on key conceptual ideas.
- Differentiate learning activities and lessons for the range of learners in each class.
- Comply with all aspects of the College's Child Protection Program.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional diversity within a classroom.
- Commitment to quality pastoral care and whole person development of students.
