People and Culture Advisor at Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS)
Role Overview
WAIS is looking for a People and Culture Advisor to provide expert advice and support on a range of HR matters including recruitment, performance management, employee relations and learning and development initiatives. As the People and Culture Advisor, you will be a pivotal player in maintaining and enhancing a people focused HR service to support a culture of high performance with kindness, care and collaboration.
This position is full time, 37.5 hours per week.

WAIS was established in 1984 to enable Western Australian athletes to achieve international sporting success. Our vision is to have Western Australian sporting champions creating community pride and inspiring the next generation. We operate in partnership with National Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Associations along with the VenuesWest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a high-performance training environment for sports and athletes.

Key responsibly areas for the role are:
- HR consultancy and advice
- Recruitment, selection, and onboarding
- Relationship management and support for a positive employee experience
- Learning and development
- Policy and procedure development and review
- Work Health and Safety
- Information and knowledge management.
About you:
- You have considerable experience in generalist HR and recruitment with a broad and thorough understanding of HR operations.
- You have a bachelor's degree in human resource management or other relevant tertiary qualification in HR or relevant discipline.
- You have exceptional communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships.
- You have experience providing HR advice to a diverse range of internal stakeholders in complex organisations.
- You can demonstrate your ability to problem solve and manage complex workplace issues.
- You have sound knowledge of all relevant employment legislation and can accurately interpret and apply policies and legislation.
- You have the ability to manage a diverse workload and meet competing deadlines.
- You have experience with HR Information systems and databases.
- Above all else, you are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
