Since 2002, KordaMentha has been entrusted with some of the region's most complex and sensitive commercial situations. We are an advisory and investment firm at heart, helping corporations, financiers, lawyers, private investors and government clients to grow, protect and recover value.
But we are so much more than that.
Fiercely independent, strategically local, and with a bias for action to get things done, we focus on doing what is right by our clients, our people, and the wider community. Our diverse experience – from finance and real estate to law enforcement and the c-suite – enables us to make a difference for our clients across our service offerings in financial crime, forensic, performance improvement, real estate and restructuring.
We provide bold and impactful solutions delivering growth, certainty, and value. There is strength in difference. And we are different.
Job DescriptionAs part of a top-tier team in restructuring, we work alongside companies facing complex problems to find creative solutions, restructure and stabilise the business and recover and create value on behalf of stakeholders. We work across a variety of industries and no situation is the same.
As an Associate, you will:
- work closely with our clients to develop and deliver restructuring and insolvency strategies
- work as part of an engagement team, across multiple workstreams
- analyse financial information, diagnose issues and prepare recommendations for our clients
- help clients evaluate and understand the performance and position of their business
- implement solutions that are as varied as our clients' challenges. This may include selling assets and businesses, reorganising capital structures or trading on businesses
- be encouraged to build your professional network and participate in business development initiatives
- work collaboratively with the team as they deliver creative and innovative solutions for their clients
- continue your learning and development through internal and external training opportunities and support the development of our team through coaching and mentoring
You are professionally qualified, or are studying, (CA or CPA) with a minimum of two years' experience in accounting, restructuring, audit, tax, business services or other similar commercial background.
This means you have:
- curiosity, empathy, integrity, and strong interpersonal qualities
- Tertiary qualifications in an accounting or finance related field and be studying for or completed the CA qualification.
- excellent analytical skills supported by an advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel
- a desire to work collaboratively and contribute in a team environment
- strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to interact at all levels of our client organisations and within our team
- structured problem-solving skills
- organisation and project management skills
- hands-on experience working in a fast-paced, highly adaptive environment
- strong commercial acumen
- willingness to travel depending on where the engagement is situated
Beyond the work, we host regular events and activities, bringing together our close-knit team in a friendly and relaxed environment so you can get to know the people behind the professionals. You will also join our Accelerate group, where you will be part of organising and attending events with other young professionals to build your network.
