Electro Optic Systems (EOS) Defence Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing team in Hume, ACT. This is a key leadership role within our Supply Chain department, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.

Job Description

As the Purchasing Manager, you will oversee purchasing activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. You'll lead a team of Purchasing Officers, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing systems and processes. This role is critical to supporting EOS's production schedules and strategic sourcing goals.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in purchasing, procurement or finance within manufacturing or lead-time sensitive environments
  • Proven experience managing and training small teams
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised, solution-oriented, and process-disciplined
  • Systems thinker with experience in ERP systems
  • Degree qualification in a relevant field (desirable)
  • APICS certification (CSCP or CPIM) preferred
