ALIGA is seeking an experienced Waste Project Manager for a short, compliance-focused assignment at a transfer station in Kingaroy. You'll lead reporting, coordination and regulatory submissions for an asbestos-related contamination response.

The work


• Lead day-to-day coordination between the client, regulators and service providers


• Prepare/coordinate regulatory submissions (e.g. TEP) and supporting evidence


• Maintain action, risk and issues registers; produce clear weekly reports


• Track budget, accruals and progress against plan


• Integrate minor capital improvements (e.g. access control/surveillance) with minimal disruption


• Ensure WHS and environmental compliance; interface with licensed asbestos contractors (no removal works)

You'll bring


• 5+ years in environmental/waste management with solid Queensland regulatory reporting experience


• Proven stakeholder engagement across government or major infrastructure environments


• QA/QC discipline (ITPs, SWMS), defensible documentation and audit trails


• Scheduling and cost forecasting skills (Excel/MS Project)


• White Card and current driver's licence; able to work onsite in Kingaroy (Mon–Fri)


• Own vehicle and PPE (onsite computer provided)

Contract


• 12 weeks, up to 40 hrs/week, expected October 2025 start


• Competitive hourly rate; travel and accommodation arrangements discussed with shortlisted candidates
