Role Overview:

A leading construction business has partnered with Elevate and is seeking a passionate senior legal counsel to join the team on a 6–12-month contract basis. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of legal matters with a particular focus on landmark projects, strategic transactions, and greenfield development initiatives

This is a 6–12-month contract opportunity commencing in December. The role will be based in the HQ office in Sydney and offers hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice across all stages of property development projects.
  • Lead legal support for transactions, deal closing, and live tenders.
  • Manage end-to-end project development, including Joint Venture (JV) agreements, Project Development Agreements (PDAs) and Land acquisitions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Conduct due diligence and advise on compliance, risk management, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure successful project outcomes.

About You:

  • 5+ years of post-admission experience in property law (law firm or in-house).
  • Must hold a valid Practising Certificate.
  • Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Demonstrated background in infrastructure, property, development and M&A
  • Excellent communication skills, commercial acumen, and ability to manage multiple priorities
