Are you passionate about using data to make a real difference in people's lives? Baptcare is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team in Melbourne. You'll play a key role in building robust data solutions that support our mission to provide exceptional care and services to the community.
About the Opportunity
In this full-time max term contract position, you'll design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that enables evidence-based decision making across our organisation. Working collaboratively with analysts, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help transform how we use data to enhance the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines and ETL processes
Build and optimise data warehouses and data lakes
Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data issues
What We're Looking For
Strong experience with SQL, Python, and cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
Expertise in data warehousing concepts and modern data architecture
Experience with tools like Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar technologies
Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
