The Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate (EPSDD) is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join our Corporate Services and Operations Division as the Senior Director, Digital and Data Governance.

In this role, you will lead the implementation of digital, data and geospatial strategies that support the Directorate's vision to shape the ACT's future while respecting our natural environment. You will oversee a number of digital, data and geospatial experts within the Digital, Data and Information Branch and work closely with the Chief Information Officer to drive innovation, build digital and data maturity, and foster a culture of informed decision-making.

This is also a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the Directorate's digital and data future—contributing to the strategic design and delivery of capabilities that will support our transition to the new Directorate - City and Environment Directorate.

What you will do:

• Lead the development and implementation of digital, data and geospatial frameworks and policies especially as EPSDD transitions into the new Directorate.
• Drive strategic investment in technology and digital capability across the Directorate.
• Manage cross-functional teams delivering digital operations, data governance, and geospatial solutions.
• Build strong partnerships across government to support whole-of-government digital and data initiatives.
• Provide expert advice to executives and stakeholders to support strategic outcomes.

What we are looking for:

• Proven leadership in digital and data governance, with experience managing complex programs or portfolios.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
• A collaborative and innovative mindset with a passion for public service.
• Experience in the public sector and/or tertiary qualifications in a relevant field are highly desirable.

Eligibility/other requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in related field is highly desirable.
• 5-10 years' experience in a senior-level digital or data management role is highly desirable.
• Experience in working with, or in the public sector is highly desirable.

Notes: An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
