The Marine Bioproducts CRC is proudly partnering with The University of Queensland and Fluid Air (a division of Spray Systems Co) to offer the following scholarship for an exceptional candidate:

  • PhD title: Advancing Drying and Extraction for bioactives from microalgae and seaweeds

  • Scholarship Value: AU$60,000 per annum

  • Duration: Up to 3.5 years

The successful applicant will join a collaborative team at the forefront of marine biotechnology and innovation, with access to world-class research facilities and strong industry links. This opportunity includes generous operational support, attendance to the annual Marine BioConnect conference and support for an industry placement.

Through this scholarship, you will:

  • Explore innovative processes for turning macroalgae and microalgae into high-value pharmaceutical and food applications.

  • Master advanced drying and extraction techniques to protect and preserve heat-sensitive bioactive compounds.

  • Collaborate with an international industry partner to solve real-world challenges and deliver practical outcomes.

  • Build highly transferable expertise in marine bioproduct research and innovation, sought after across academia and industry.
