About the Company
Our client is a property investment & funds management group with a strong track record in commercial real estate, with the investment, development and management of around $4 billion in assets under management (AUM). The client will deploy significant capital in data centre, industrial and logistics, and commercial property (core-plus and development) markets in Australia.
Role Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualising, planning, acquiring and delivering development and value-added projects across data centre, industrial and logistics, and commercial property markets. Some of their properties have residential development upside. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure developments achieve their highest and best use.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- The Senior Development & Acquisitions Manager is responsible for the overall planning and delivery of developments, both new & value-added, within the portfolio.
- Full development management lifecycle including the pre planning & approvals process through to delivery, & construction activities.
- Ensure ongoing project approvals by developing and maintaining relationships with relevant Councils & development authorities.
- In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities across multiple projects from Inception through to Delivery Completion.
- Negotiate, lobby & manage relevant stakeholders and authorities across in each project.
- Feasibility and budget management reporting together with master plan design input to ensure maximisation of project outcomes.
- Overseeing the Project Team during construction and ensuring delivery of the development product described above.
- Overseeing the Leasing Team in marketing the development and procuring suitable tenants.
- The Senior Development & Acquisitions Manager is responsible for the financial success of the development.
- Sourcing, evaluating, and securing properties for development or value-add.
- Conducting feasibility studies and due diligence to guide investment decisions.
- Negotiating and structuring acquisitions with property owners and agents.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with real estate professionals and key stakeholders.
- Designing and optimizing site layouts to maximize project potential.
- Collaborating with internal teams across development, design, and construction to ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in a building-related discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in development and project management roles.
- A strong understanding of construction and managing head contractors.
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and project management tools.
- A self-motivated problem-solving individual who thrives in a collaborative, professional environment.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
