About the team
Coles Group Team Cover protects our team members, customers and business. We work across a variety of areas, from workers compensation to property insurance to public liability insurance. Our team offers strategic advice that guides decision making and helps our Group achieve its business outcomes.
An opportunity exists for an experienced Rehabilitation Specialist – VIC/TAS to work with our businesses and claims team to ensure effective early intervention and return to work planning for our most important asset, our Team Members. The ideal fit for this role would be an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or similar Allied Health background, looking to transition into a corporate role and provide subject matter expertise.
About the role
You will proactively drive sustainable return to work outcomes via direct engagement with Injured Team Members, our Businesses and Treating Practitioners. Getting involved in providing advice for complex claims and will work closely with our claims team to develop strategies to return our Team Members to health.
You will:
- Manage recovery and return to work on a portfolio of complex claims.
- Drive Return to Work outcomes of injured Team Members by direct engagement with the Team Members, Treating Health Practitioners, Rehabilitation Providers and the Businesses to ensure effective recovery and return to work plans are developed and implemented.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of return-to-work compliance requirements obligations and ensure that the business meet these obligations on allocated claims.
- Build the capability of the workers compensation state team and business stakeholders in effective return to work planning and compliance.
- Build effective internal and external relationships to deliver improved outcomes.
- Manage a claims portfolio from insurance and recovery and return to work perspectives as required.
About you and your skills
We are looking for a professional with a background in allied health and experience in return-to-work planning with significant experience in workplace-based rehabilitation or experience within workers' compensation or similar environment.
You will also have:
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills and genuine care for our injured team members
- Experience in taking a strategic approach to delivering strong outcomes with difficult claims
- Tertiary qualifications in allied health or a related field is essential for this role as is significant experience in workplace-based rehabilitation
- An understanding and knowledge of all rehabilitation principles, service providers, medical terminology and management of injuries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage in effective discussions with relevant stakeholders
