Hume City Council's Administration Officer Specialised Support Services (SSS) provides general administrative support to Support at Home (SAH) packaged care team.
What you'll be doing:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for receiving package management inquiries related to Support at Home (SAH) from individual residents, community agencies, health professionals etc. in relation to SAH.
- Adhere to administration requirements of client correspondence which includes Service Agreements, Introductory Letters etc.
- Add or update client funding in client management system, monitor expenses and provide the client with a monthly statement of expenditure.
- May be required to manage and reconcile department credit card in accordance to relevant policies and procedures.
- Actively engage and support in the implementation of the Continuous Quality Improvement Program as it applies to Aged & Disability Services.
- Actively engage and support in the implementation of the Occupational Health & Safety Program as it applies to Aged & Disability Services.
- Actively and positively promote processes and systems which ensure effective teamwork and communication through:
- Actively foster a learning environment and contribute to regular learning opportunities for own professional development
- Undertake invoice processing including uploading of invoices from clients to the client database or to third parties.
- Actively participate and support in the development, implementation, evaluation and review of Aged & Disability Services policies and procedures as required.
The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
- Skilled in gathering appropriate information to inform client care needs and care planning.
- Ability to support an individual client with an appropriate assessment and to ensure their individual, physical and emotional needs are met.
- Demonstrated awareness and understanding of issues confronting older people and people with disabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of additional relevant community support agencies and service providers.
- Knowledge of computer software systems utilised in a community setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to gain co-operation of and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with, cooperate with council staff, recipients and residents from a diverse range of age groups, cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to update and maintain administrative records, policies and guidelines.
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in Office/Business Administration or lesser formal qualifications with relevant administrative experience; and experience in working with older people and people with disabilities in a home or community setting.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence
