The opportunity

The System Accountant plays a key role in supporting the company's financial systems, primarily SAP (FICO module) and Concur. This role is suited for a finance professional with strong accounting knowledge who is eager to expand into systems support. The System Accountant will act as the bridge between business users, senior consultants, and IT teams—ensuring issues are tracked and resolved, processes are documented, and systems operate effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for SAP FICO and Concur system users, logging and tracking issues
  • Liaise with senior consultants in China (Mandarin required) to resolve issues and implement solutions
  • Support SAP–Concur integration, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data flow
  • Assist with master data management and routine reconciliations
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and training materials
  • Assist in testing new functionalities, system upgrades, or configuration changes
  • Support end-user training and knowledge transfer, promoting system adoption
  • Contribute to identifying process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate

  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge with an interest in ERP/financial systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin (essential for liaising with offshore consultants)
  • Strong documentation and process-mapping skills (SOPs, flowcharts, training guides)
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem-solving ability with willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to supporting both finance and IT teams
