About the Role

You will be responsible for purchasing materials and equipment, as required, and ensuring that all purchases requested arrive on site within designated timeframes, ensuring that records are maintained, and key stakeholders are informed on the delivery status.

We currently have a vacancy for a Full Time Procurement Officer at our facility in Wingfield.

Reporting to the Operations Manager your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Arrange quotes and purchasing of materials and equipment.
  • Provide advice, information and guidance to internal stakeholders on sourcing and purchasing requirements for project delivery.
  • Order products in accordance with specifications and in accordance with pricing requirements.
  • Search out new products and suppliers and ensure that specifications meet the required criteria
  • Develop and negotiate new purchase arrangements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure that all purchases are best value for money whilst adhering to relevant Quality and Safety requirements
  • Monitor and manage the timing and prioritising of orders.
  • Escalate critical late orders with the supplier and ensure key stakeholders are aware of the impact.
  • Work with the Quality Dept. to ensure supplier conformance and performance targets are maintained.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and actively participate in teamwork to enhance collaboration and positive work culture.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing patterns to assist in making informed decisions on the purchasing process and supplier selection.
  • Forecasting material requirements by Identifying trends in the market and developing plans.
  • Assist with the development and roll-out of supplier tender process documents, analysing the data and price negotiations.

About You

Essential:

  • High-level proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Confident in decision-making
  • Mature and able to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A sound understanding of budgeting and purchasing

Desirable:

  • Great interpersonal skills and team-focused
  • Trade or engineering qualifications will be highly regarded
