Blu Bar, on 36 of the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney is an exclusive cocktail lounge located high above the city, allowing diners to enjoy breath taking views of Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Blu Bar has created a unique, inventive style of cocktails which has serious drink connoisseurs milling around for a masterclass in mixology.

Shangri-La Sydney is looking for skilled Food & Beverage Attendants to join the Blu Bar team. As a Bartender / Bar Attendant, your responsibilities include:

  • Is aware of and observes the requirements of the liquor act as they relate to the Hotel and Blu Bar on 36.
  • Display a high degree of professional product knowledge.
  • Presents menus to guests, suggesting food and beverage items and answering any questions regarding products the Hotel sells.
  • Records guest orders and places with the bar/kitchen.
  • Anticipate and accommodate guest needs
  • Obtains necessary equipment for service, according to established procedures and services orders to guests, observing proper flow of service and the time requirements of the guest.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Food & Beverage Management team.

About You

  • Experience in Hotel or Bar environments.
  • Customer service experience in a similar setting
  • Excellent communication skills in reading and writing English.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in as Food & beverage Attendant
  • Understanding of workplace practices in Work Health and Safety
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
