Apply your knowledge of beef cattle handling, research techniques and rangeland management to the Victoria River Research Station.

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries was formed in August 2024 to enable agricultural producers to grow their business and the industry. The department underpins the Territory's reputation as a supplier of safe and quality agricultural produce through scientific research, strong biosecurity practices and compliance with animal welfare legislation.

The Kidman Springs station is located in the heart of the Victoria River district and is considered to be one of the Territory's major cattle producing regions.

As the Beef Cattle Research Officer you will assist the Farm Manger conduct Livestock Industries research trials, daily operation of the Research Station and assist with the preparation and implementation of extension programs to promote the sustainable development of the NT Pastoral Industry. This involves collecting, recording and collating research data related to livestock production and maintaining station records.

Experience relater to beef cattle research on extensive pastoral regions will be well received.

In return, you will receive free on-site accommodation (2 bedroom demountable), competitive remuneration package including 11.5% superannuation, six weeks' recreation and three weeks' personal leave, an additional 3 days paid leave over the Christmas shutdown and 17.5% annual leave loading.
