Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our APAC Systems Integration team in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne. 

Our Systems Integration team is a part of the Consulting business, and supports a broad range of client, at various project phases. Typically, we would be involved for early phase studies to shape the solution, and progress through to design, execution, testing and site commissioning.

This position reports to the Business Manager Energy within Systems Integration and is an immediate requirement. Our ideal candidate will have strong capabilities in a customer facing role and enthusiasm for contributing to team experience and growth. 

You will become part of a team focused on delivering solutions for our clients in the wider APAC region.

Responsibilities

You will be contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:

  • Engaging in all phases of automation projects, front-end engineering through detailed design, procurement, configuration, implementation, startup, and commissioning in areas such as DCS Configuration, SCADA, HMI, SIS/FGS PLC programming and interfacing, architecture and networking, and specification development
  • Participating in Automation Engineering projects for the design and implementation of automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects
  • Attending and supporting site surveys, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT's), Site Acceptance Test (SAT's) and commissioning activities for delivered systems
  • Reviewing, commenting, and providing input on the project schedule and project cost estimate
  • Supporting procurement with vendors lists development, requisition development, technical bid tabulations and clarifications, purchase recommendations, monitor progress and maintain communications with vendors as required

Ideally you will have:

  • A customer-focus with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood
  • Experience in control systems integration with an operating company, systems vendor or engineering services provider for onshore or offshore oil & gas / energy industry projects 
  • A background and hands-on experience with systems platforms, operating systems and the interactions between systems, system hardware and architecture 
  • Experience in implementation and design of Honeywell Experion PKS DCS. Experience in the other vendor DCS and PLC systems will also be considered
  • Experience in implementation and design of SIS / FGS systems is desirable, including Triconex or Honeywell SafetyManager   
  • Development of automation related deliverables, including I/O schedule, network topology, Automation Standards, Functional Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications, and test procedures
  • Experience in executing automation configuration based on input documents including. P&ID, C&E, Control & Safeguarding Narrative, AOA, Instrumentation List (e.g. SPI) 
  • Functional Safety Certification (TUV FSEng) is highly desirable
  • CPEng and/or RPEQ/RPEV is highly desirable
