The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will oversee and supervise end-to-end payroll functions across IntoWork Australia and its Group of Businesses. This role ensures payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all relevant legislation.
You'll play a key role in maintaining payroll integrity, managing complex awards, preparing year-end statements, and supporting policy development. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and is passionate about accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of high-volume payroll
- Manage PAYG, superannuation, salary packaging, government payments, and deductions
- Prepare and submit end-of-month reports and ad-hoc internal/external payroll queries
- Process yearly award/CPI increases and WGEA reporting
- Support year-end payroll processes including payment summaries and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with Modern Awards, Agreements, and relevant state/industry legislation
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and training
- Support the Payroll Manager with audits and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
we're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence. You will have:
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a similar high-volume payroll role
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and awards
- Experience with various industrial instruments and payroll practices
- Advanced skills in payroll systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
- HR3 experience (highly desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- High level of discretion, initiative, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field (desirable)
- National Police Check (required prior to appointment)
- Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check (required)
