From conception through to baby's fourth birthday, our specialist, psychiatrist-led team of counsellors and therapists provide low or no-cost support that empowers new mums and dads to deal with challenges, build a healthy relationship with their baby and thrive as a family.

Your role at St John of God Social Outreach

We are seeking applications from Psychologists with an interest and experience in in perinatal infant mental health (PIMH) to join our Raphael Services team.

Registered psychologists, clinical psychology registrars, clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, and educational and developmental psychologists and Graduates encouraged to apply

As a PIMH service, our goal is to nurture healthy attachment relationships that have lasting impact across the lifespan. Interventions are offered by assisting dyads and triads, along with group programs to build parental reflective capacity. We assist mothers and fathers and infants in the perinatal period up until the youngest child in the family turns 4 years of age. Psychology services are offered at no cost upon referral under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.

Full time or part time employment options will be considered. For applicants seeking part time employment, days of work must include a Tuesday to contribute to collaborative client care during our multidisciplinary team meetings.

Opportunities are available to work across our sites in Wembley, Midland, Wanneroo and Mandurah.

The Position

  • Provides advanced level Psychology services including a range of individualised and group clinical care reflecting current ethical clinical practice as required.
  • Provides comprehensive assessment and care planning monitoring client/patient progress adjusting treatment accordingly for complex management.
  • Ensures effective multidisciplinary teamwork through professional communication and comprehensive liaison with colleagues, clients and their supports, referring doctors, and other service providers.
  • Complies with legal and ethical responsibilities to clients, visitors and staff, inclusive of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Maintains appropriate clinical records reflecting adherence to service policies, ACHS and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrates reflective practice and commitment to professional development.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of programs relevant to the needs of clients and current clinical practice.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in evidence-based group and individual therapies, have experience in working in the perinatal mental health space, and must be eligible for a Medicare provider number.

Successful applicants will hold a Tertiary qualification in Psychology, full AHPRA registration and Psychology Board of Australia area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology to claim Medicare rebates as a Clinical Psychologist.

  • Grade 1 to 3 Salary range: $85,508 to $146,218 plus 12% Superannuation
