About the role:

We're on the lookout for a Waste Facility Team Member to join our team at the Gatehouse of the Busselton Waste Facility. This is more than just a job – it's a chance to make a real difference in how our city manages waste and recycling, while keeping things safe, tidy, and providing exceptional customer service.

You will work a 9 day fortnight between the hours of 7:00am till 4:00pm and will be required to work every second weekend, public holidays (except Christmas day, boxing day and New Years day) . You may also be required to work across both waste facilities (in Busselton and Dunsborough), but will be mostly based at the Busselton Transfer Station.

What you'll be doing:

  • Welcoming visitors and informing them on how to dispose of their waste correctly
  • Handling cash and reconciling daily takings
  • Keeping the gatehouse and surrounds clean and presentable
  • Sorting recyclables and salvaged materials
  • Operating equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assisting with maintenance tasks like litter collection

What you'll bring to the role:

  • A positive attitude and great customer service skills
  • Basic computer and cash handling know-how
  • A keen eye for safety and cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
  • White Card
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
