A growing financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Fund Tax Accountant to join its expanding Australian tax function. This is a newly created role within a well-established global organisation that delivers fund administration, tax and middle office support for a broad portfolio of investment clients.

In this role, you can expect exposure to complex alternative fund clients while working in an environment that offers exceptional balance. The tax group is supported by a substantial global network, with more than 150 specialists across multiple regions.

The work is interesting and there is a genuine focus on supporting long-term career development. You will collaborate closely with teams across the business as well as external accounting firms, ranging from Big 4 to mid-tier, which helps maintain strong technical breadth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Australian Tax team with the preparation of tax compliance and reporting for a portfolio of alternative fund clients
  • Prepare and review distribution calculations, tax provisions, income tax returns, BAS, AIIR and investor statements
  • Work with both proprietary and external tax software, alongside manual calculations in Excel
  • Partner with internal teams across Fund Accounting, Investor Relations and FATCA
  • Contribute to project work, template testing and improvements to processes and procedures
  • Maintain high standards of operational compliance and risk management
  • Manage client queries and deliver high-quality service with limited supervision

About You

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
  • Experience in fund tax, corporate tax or audit with tax exposure, gained in a professional services environment, financial services firm or fund administrator
  • CA or CPA qualified or progressing
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, collaborative approach
  • Interest in developing deeper technical expertise in fund taxation
