Are you a motivated and dynamic leader passionate about critical care? Join the John Hunter Hospital Critical Care Services team and play a key role in shaping the future of intensive care and critical care outreach at one of NSW's largest tertiary health facilities.

About the Role:

As Nurse Manager, you will provide operational and strategic leadership across two specialised intensive care units, the critical care retrieval service, critical care outreach for JHH and JHCH, the HNELHD Organ and Tissue Donation Service, and a large, expanding nursing workforce. You will be accountable for 24/7 service delivery, workforce planning and optimisation, clinical education integration, and the implementation of quality and safety governance frameworks across both adult and paediatric populations.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of intensive care and critical care services, leading your team through significant developments including the transition to the Statewide Digital Patient Record (SDPR) system and relocation to modernised facilities in 2026.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Nurse Manager who demonstrates advanced leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and high-level decision-making aligned with organisational priorities and patient care outcomes.

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with relevant postgraduate qualifications or extensive critical care experience.

You will be supported by the Critical Care Executive team and the JHH Nursing Management Leadership team

What you may not have yet – advanced strategic planning, financial oversight, or regional system navigation – we'll support you to develop through mentorship, structured training, and ongoing professional development.

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
