Job Description:

The Marketing Leader South Pacific is a leadership role, and the successful candidate will need to have a strategic mindset with an ability to confer and influence outcomes with the senior leadership of the HPE South Pacific business. The role will report to the HPE General Manager of APJ Marketing.

The 'Marketing Leader' for SP will be responsible for all aspects of marketing for the South Pacific sub-region which primarily comprises of Australia and New Zealand. This includes planning with key stakeholders (incl. customer and partners) and converting top business priorities into impactful marketing execution plans. This role will be part of the 'South Pacific Sub-region's' leadership team and will represent all HPE marketing within that group. This role will also be part of the HPE APJ Marketing Leadership group. Here are the key attributes of the role

  • Increase HPE's revenue and market share by architecting innovative and effective marketing plans, see them through to execution, measure results and reflect on learnings for the future
  • Improve Annual Satisfaction Survey scores including brand related metrics for customers and partners as well as employee survey scores for direct team members
  • Improve our skills as marketers by building a vibrant HPE Marketing team in SP (South Pacific) which includes extended HPE Channel marketing community to share and leverage best practices globally
  • Help bring to life HPE's vision and strategy through effective field and channel marketing execution

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end marketing execution and planning with a focus on demand generation across all marketing tactics including events, direct-marketing and digital marketing.
  • Primary Organizational Linkages:
  • Sales and business teams: Work closely with HPE Business unit leaders (Ex. Hybrid Cloud, Compute, Channel etc) and translate top priorities into impactful execution plans
  • Overall leadership role for marketing in SP will mean working closely with APJ Marketing leader and APJ team members to uphold HPE's global marketing framework and policies in the SP sub-region
  • Develop strong C Level relationships with key HPE channel partners and customers
  • Potential KPIs:
  • Pipeline (incl. conversion metrics) and ROI for overall business and strategic areas of the business
  • Customer Engagement Metrics, Awareness metrics, Media efficiency and demand waterfall metrics
  • Channel partner growth for those with DF (Development Funds) investments
  • Customer Acquisition (New Revenue, incremental impact)
  • Employee satisfaction scores and metrics
  • Partner satisfaction scores related to co-marketing
  • Overall utilisation of budgets
  • Strong compliance and ethics posture
  • Key Decision Right(s) and influence:
  • Allocation of budgets across the media mix
  • Managing a team that helps with planning and execution of marketing campaigns, in accordance with HPE Global marketing framework

About You

  • Business Analyst (BA) or bachelor's degree in marketing or related business fields is mandatory; Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred
  • 12+ of years marketing experience with a minimum of 5 years in Marketing
  • People management skills and experience is mandatory (Min 5 years)
  • Experience in leading the marketing function or sub-function for an IT organisation in Australia
  • Partner or Enterprise sales and marketing experience, industry or channel experience in the IT industry will be a plus
  • Co-marketing experience and experience in administering and managing channel marketing investments will be desirable but not mandatory
  • Strong people management skills and ability to leverage a matrix organisation to deliver the right outcomes for the HPE business
  • Innovation mindset, continuously innovate and bring to the table new marketing execution ideas and campaign suggestions which reflect the trends that are shaping our industry
  • Vendor management experience: Ability to develop and enhance close working relationships with local and global vendors
  • Strong posture on compliance, plan and execute within ethical, financial and legal boundaries at all times
  • Deep understanding of Marketing principles and strong grasp over ever evolving Martech tools
  • Experience in developing and driving strong outcome-oriented relationships with partners
  • Excellent written/ oral communications and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to thrive in matrix environments and work effectively within virtual teams
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with vendors and stakeholders
  • Ability to interface effectively with different levels of management and functional stakeholders in HR, Finance, procurement and related functions
  • Fluency in English language
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-country and diverse business environment
  • Comfortable with hybrid work arrangement which includes a mix of remote, onsite with partners, at events and in HPE premises. Ability to travel for work
