The Associate Director Adult and Older Adult Mental Health & Wellbeing Services (AOAMHWS), works in partnership with the AOAMHWS Clinical Director and is responsible for operational and high- level leadership and strategic planning for the AOAMHWS.

The AOAMHWS consists of the following mental health services:

  • Adult Community Mental Health Services
  • Aged Psychiatry Assessment Treatment Team (APATT)
  • Wanyarra Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (15 adult and 5 aged care beds)
  • Grutzner House Psychogeriatric Residential (20 beds)

The Associate Director AOAMHWS along with the Clinical Director will ensure a standard of excellence in clinical practice that reflects the vision and goals of GV Health. They will lead change in response to the Royal Commission into Victorian Mental Health System (RCVMHS). Innovation and partnership development will be key in seeking new opportunities for service improvement and development. The role will be responsible for the close monitoring of key performance indicators and meeting performance and other targets. The position will ensure all required policies and procedures are developed or reviewed, implemented, monitored and updated appropriately.

The Associate Director AOAMHWS will act in a financially responsible manner and work with the relevant team managers to ensure that the programs and services operate within budget. The Associate Director AOAMHWS will develop and maintain organisational relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Associate Director AOAMHWS reports directly to the GVAMHWS Director of Nursing and Operations and will work as part of the Mental Health leadership team to provide operational oversight, leadership and senior management to clinical streams across the mental health services. They will work with the Director of Nursing and Operations and leadership team to support the strategic direction of the service and operationalisation of the service plan.
