About the role

EXCELSIOR EXECUTIVE SEARCH are seeking an exceptional Mechanical Design Drafter to join our team in Toowoomba, Queensland. You will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative mechanical systems and solutions that support our client's growing business. This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components to support the production and delivery of our client's products and services in Agriculture, transport Vehicles and Attachments.
  • Create and maintain a register of parts and drawings
  • work out solutions from sketches
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings using Inventor, specifications, and reports
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement

What we're looking for

  • A sound background of design drafting of Mechanical equipment and parts including 4WD accessories and ideally Alloy
  • You require Australian Citizenship, Australian permanent residency or unrestricted work rights for Australia to be considered for this role. This is a Toowoomba based role, you need to be in the office and is not suitable for working remotely
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in a similar industry such as automotive, rollingstock, aerospace, transportation or defence etc.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD, for 2D and 3D design
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop effective solutions, you will need to understand the product and be able to do detailed design and drawings for manufacture of it
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
