  • Support student success and academic excellence through accessible teaching practices, timely feedback, academic guidance, and fostering a culture of educational excellence.
  • Advance teaching scholarship by engaging in pedagogical research, mentoring colleagues, and completing the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching.
  • Lead and contribute to impactful research and innovation by securing funding, conducting interdisciplinary collaborations, developing industry partnerships, supervising HDR students, and translating research into real-world outcomes and policy.

  • Build collaborative partnerships, showing the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and organisations.
  • Show research potential and cultural competence, with an emerging research profile, understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and a passion for teaching and research.

As a Senior Lecturer in Speech Pathology, you will:

  • Lead unit and course teams to design, review, and refine curricula and learning materials, integrating industry, clinical, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. Champion innovative, learner-centric, and inclusive teaching practices across delivery modes.
  • Develop effective assessments and rubrics, provide clear feedback, and lead moderation processes. Offer academic support and collaborate to enhance student services and outcomes.
  • Contribute to pedagogical research, build teaching capability within teams, and support professional development of academics. Complete the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching.
  • Drive high impact research through securing competitive funding, leading interdisciplinary collaborations, and producing nationally recognised outputs. Supervise HDR students and minor research projects, mentor early career researchers, and foster a culture of research excellence and industry engagement.
  • Champion strategic initiatives and represent the university across academic, professional, and civic platforms. Lead community engagement activities, promote cultural understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and support inclusive, culturally appropriate practices.

To be successful, you will:

  • Holds a qualification as a speech pathologist (undergraduate or graduate level) and a PhD in a relevant area.
  • Demonstrated scholarly teaching experience in Speech Pathology programs, ideally at the postgraduate level, with a strong record in curriculum development and student engagement.
  • Proven experience in developing professional competencies, mentoring junior staff and researchers, and leading academic initiatives.
