FIFO from Perth | 8/6 Roster | 12-month contract | $90–100/hr + super
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join a long-term contract supporting a major operation.
Working on an 8/6 roster, you will be responsible for both planning and scheduling mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring work is safely and efficiently executed.
This role requires a strong background in maintenance planning, hands-on scheduling capability, and adaptability to different systems. You'll be working with Oracle now, with a migration to SAP planned for next year — so exposure across systems is highly valued.
What's in it for you: Why you'll love this job…
- Impact & Ownership: Take charge of planning and scheduling mechanical maintenance to drive safe, efficient outcomes.
- Great Rewards: $90–100/hr + super, paid weekly.
- Team & Culture: Work within a collaborative maintenance environment where your planning expertise makes a difference.
- Stability with Growth: 12-month contract with strong potential for extension.
- Roster & Lifestyle: 8/6 roster providing balance and consistency.
What you'll do: Key responsibilities…
- Plan and schedule mechanical maintenance activities in line with operational priorities
- Use Oracle and Viziya Scheduler to manage and track planned work
- Prepare work packs, task lists, and resource requirements to support execution
- Coordinate with supervisors, trades, and contractors to confirm readiness and resolve conflicts
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance history to support the upcoming SAP migration
- Support continuous improvement in planning, scheduling, and shutdown processes
What we're looking for: About you…
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Planner in mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry
- Skilled in both planning and scheduling functions (end-to-end work management)
- Strong systems knowledge — Oracle and Viziya experience essential, SAP exposure highly regarded
- Detail-oriented with the ability to translate maintenance strategies into executable work plans
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across maintenance teams
- Must have the right to work in Australia
