About the role
This is a full-time Propagator role within Tubestock Nursery Australia's commercial nursery based in Bellmere, Queensland. As a Propagator, you will be responsible for propagating and growing a wide variety of plants and trees for our commercial customers.
What you'll be doing
- Propagate plants and trees using various techniques such as seed propagation
- Oversee all aspects of plant propagation including sowing, cuttings, grafting, potting, and aftercare
- Maintain ideal environmental conditions for plant growth in the nursery, including temperature, humidity, irrigation, and lighting
- Monitor plant health and implement integrated pest management strategies
- Prepare and maintain propagation media and equipment
- Work closely with the growing and production teams to ensure timely plant availability
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursery operations and propagation processes
What we're looking for
- Certificate III or above in Horticulture or a related field
- Proven experience in a commercial nursery setting, with a strong focus on plant propagation
- Excellent knowledge of plant biology, growing requirements, and propagation techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve production targets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality plant stock
- Ability to problem-solve and implement innovative solutions to nursery challenges
- A passion for horticulture and a desire to contribute to the growth of our business
