The Opportunity
Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager to oversee the clinical and operational management of Ward 2, our acute surgical unit. This ward delivers high quality care across a broad range of specialties, including General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Gynaecology, and Paediatric Surgery.
In this key clinical leadership role, you will work closely with both the Director & Assistant Director of Clinical Services to drive operational performance and uphold exceptional patient outcomes. You will provide visible leadership, guiding and mentoring staff to foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture. The ability to effectively manage budgets, staffing, and other resources will be essential to success in this role.
This key leadership role will see you:
- Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
- Effectively manage roster processes and allocate duties to clinical staff.
- Work with and support other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes.
- Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.

Your Skills and Experience
You are a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow while bringing a passion for a high level of client care and service. You will also demonstrate:
- Relevant registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in acute surgical (or similar) nursing
- Proven knowledge and experience as a senior nurse or manager.
- Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management.
- Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources.
Remuneration: A base hourly rate ranging from $ $ superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
