Fastcasual Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced full time Sous Chef for its busy 140 seater seafood and steakhouse restaurant located within the Harbord Diggers site on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Trading as Teddy Larkin's Seafood and Steakhouse, we are a full-service restaurant serving quality produce specially selected from Australia's paddocks and coastlines. Our seasonal menus reflect a full range of delicious, locally-sourced dishes. The restaurant boasts a beautiful fit out and state-of-the-art kitchen overlooking the Freshwater Headland. The position carries with it free parking + discount gym membership.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Head Chef with menu development and creative input into seasonal menus
  • Food ordering and supplier liaison
  • Managing labour and food costs
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
  • Deliver outstanding quality product with attention to detail
  • Help recruit, build and develop the kitchen team
  • Compliance with company policies including WHS, food safety, licensing and record-keeping

Skills or Experience Required

  • Relevant qualification and at least 3 years full time experience in a comparable role
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Proven ability in a fast paced kitchen with high volume
  • Creative and passionate about food with professional approach and attention to detail
  • Fantastic communication skills with both front and back of house
