The role

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team at the Waitara Family Medical Practice in Waitara, NSW. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring they receive a warm and efficient welcome to our practice.

Key responsibilities

  1. Greeting patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  2. Scheduling appointments and managing the practice's appointment system
  3. Handling patient inquiries and providing information about the practice's services
  4. Maintaining patient records and ensuring patient confidentiality
  5. Assisting with medical billing and insurance claims processing
  6. Performing general administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying and ordering supplies
  7. Providing support to the clinical team as needed

What we're looking for

  1. Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  3. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  4. Proficiency in using medical software, Microsoft Office suite and standard office equipment
  5. A friendly, professional and empathetic demeanor
  6. A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
  7. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
