Your new role:

As an Advanced Carer Peer Worker, you'll use your lived or living experience as a carer of someone with mental health challenges to connect with, support, and educate other carers and families. This role strengthens recovery-oriented care and promotes carer inclusion across services.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing emotional support, information and education to carers and families.

Sharing personal carer experience to model recovery and build connection.

Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team and co-facilitating carer support groups.

Advocating for carer-inclusive practices and identifying service improvements.

About you:

You are a passionate and empathetic individual with lived or living experience as a mental health carer. You are ready to use your experience to empower others and promote recovery-focused care.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Willingness and confidence to share your own lived or living experience to support others.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships.

An understanding of recovery principles, peer work values and carer-inclusive frameworks.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain professional boundaries.
