About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical secretary to join our dynamic team at Gunalingam Cardiology in North Gosford, NSW. As a full-time medical secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our busy cardiology practice and ensuring the smooth running of our office.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments, including managing patient records and follow-ups
  • Providing administrative support to our team of cardiologists, including typing correspondence and reports, filing, and data entry
  • Handling incoming phone calls and emails, and responding to patient inquiries
  • Assisting with the preparation of medical reports and documentation
  • Maintaining a well-organised and efficient office environment
  • Adhering to all relevant medical administration and confidentiality protocols

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a medical secretary or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting or as a legal/dictaphone typist
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, clinicians, echo technicians and other stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Proficient in using medical software (Genie preferred but not critical) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • A friendly, professional, and customer-focused approach
