About the Role: 

Curtin University has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Research) position within the esteemed School of Nursing. This role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum 0.4 FTE) and will begin in January 2026. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a dynamic learning environment, with a primary focus on enhancing teaching and learning experiences for our students.

Your responsibilities will include:

Teaching:

• Deliver innovative and high-quality education across various student levels and modalities.
• Promote reflective improvement in teaching practices and engage in curriculum development.
• Conduct a range of interactive learning sessions and supervise the academic progress of honours and postgraduate students.

Research:

• Engage in competitive and impactful research, contributing to a coherent research program and leading projects.
• Actively pursue research grants and disseminate findings through various academic channels.
• Supervise research students and strive for international recognition in your field.

Service and Leadership:

• Contribute to academic service and foster collegiality within the faculty.
• Engage in community-related activities and mentor less experienced staff.
• Uphold professional standards and promote a supportive work environment.

Selection Criteria:

1. A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline.
2. Proven high level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching.
3. A significant contribution to scholarship in teaching and experience in curriculum development and unit/course coordination.
4. An established record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
5. Evidence of an established national reputation and growing international profile and a record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead major curriculum and/or research initiatives, provide mentoring to less experienced staff and supervise HDR students.
7. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
8. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

Role Requirements:

• As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
• Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
• Unrestricted AHPRA registration.
