Robinson Gill is a multi-disciplinary law firm based in Box Hill that has provided expert legal advice for over 40 years. We have a collegiate team of approximately seventy five staff, with most senior lawyers holding Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialisations, and are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Assistant/Legal Assistant for our Police and Prisons Team. The role has come about due to growth in the team. Working directly with two lawyers, you would work alongside other assistants and clerks in a team focused on social justice and exceptional client outcomes.

We are a proud mid-tier Melbourne law firm that supports our local community via sponsorships and partnerships with community legal centres/sporting clubs and charities, and that values our diverse team.

This role is four days per week, permanent part-time, based in our Box Hill office, with occasional work from home flexibility once you are across our systems.

Joining our Police & Prisons team, supporting those wronged by Victoria Police or in prison, you will support two fee earners with the following duties:

  • File management;
  • Drafting correspondence and legal documentation;
  • Preparing briefs and court documents;
  • Diary management;
  • Arranging meetings, mediations, conferences and medical appointments;
  • Liaising with all providers including barristers, medical practitioners and witnesses;
  • Processing bills and accounts; and
  • General administrative duties – filing, photocopying, mail, scanning etc.

About you:

We are seeking a well organised and proactive applicant who demonstrates the following skills and attributes:

  • Ideally a passionate career legal assistant;
  • Great attention to detail and able to work autonomously and with initiative;
  • Solid technical skills and strong written English skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a friendly and professional manner in a team environment;
  • Remain calm and poised under pressure;
  • Ability to juggle and prioritise competing demands with minimal fuss;
  • Confident, positive and can-do attitude;
  • Action Step/iManage and eBrief Ready (software) knowledge an advantage but not at all essential and
  • Must be be able to work in our Box Hill office with some flexibility.
  • Working at least four days per week is essential, if you would prefer full time this may be considered for an exceptional candidate if
